Typography for Kids
This wooden alphabet puzzle is a design object that bridges playful learning with typographic sophistication. Each of the 26 letters is crafted in a distinct typeface beginning with the same letter: A in Arial, C in Century Gothic, T in Times New Roman, and so on – creating a tactile introduction to the world of typography. Every letter is precision-cut and engraved using laser technology, with the corresponding typeface and style marked directly into the beechwood base.
The puzzle pieces themselves are made from wood and individually colored with acrylic pigments and protected by child-safe varnishes, resulting in different color palette editions. Despite the precise and crisp digital fabrication, each component is hand-finished: sanded, painted, inspected, and assembled with the care of traditional craftsmanship.
Crafted from high-quality European beech and free from any plastics, the puzzle is both durable and aesthetically refined.
The over-extruded letters invite tactile engagement and emphasize the sculptural dimension of type. It rejects the harmony of a single typeface, allowing each letter to stand alone.
